Former Public Works chief Manuel Bonoan has failed to return as promised, nearly a month after he left the country to purportedly accompany his wife for a medical procedure in the United States.
Malacañang, however, did not appear to be too keen about tracing Bonoan’s whereabouts at the moment.
“Let’s see. For now, there are no orders yet regarding this,” said Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro in a briefing.
Castro said that even if Bonoan is not yet back in the country, he may be summoned to face the law.
“Let’s see if there is a case to be filed against him, so maybe he will be summoned,” she said.
Castro said Philippine authorities are awaiting the issuance of a Red Notice from Interpol against former representative Zaldy Co.
