Kylie Padilla clarified lingering issues surrounding her previous relationship during a recent guest appearance on the program Your Honor, saying she felt compelled to set the record straight amid continued public confusion.
At the start of the interview, Padilla directly addressed allegations of infidelity, stressing that she was not the first to cheat in the relationship.
“There’s just something I want to say and clarify… I really was not the first one to cheat,” she said in Filipino.
Padilla explained that her decision to speak up was driven by the persistence of misunderstandings about what transpired between her and her former partner, actor Aljur Abrenica. She, however, declined to go into further detail, noting her intention to keep the discussion light.
“There are still people who are confused. I really just want to clarify things,” she added.
Beyond addressing the past, the actress also shared insights into her current co-parenting arrangement with Abrenica for their two sons, Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo. According to Padilla, the children stay with her most of the time, both in terms of custody and financial responsibility.
“We’re still co-parenting. What I mean is that the kids are with me 80 percent of the time – and financially, I also shoulder about 80 percent,” she said.
Padilla emphasized that despite the usual schedule – where Abrenica spends weekends with the children – she allows her sons to decide when they want to see their father, even outside the agreed arrangements.
“For me, I really ask my kids what they want to do. I give them choices – what do you want to do? Do you want to do this? Do you want to go to your dad?” she shared, adding that she has seen an improvement in the children’s relationship with their father.
“So when they say they miss their dad, even if it’s not part of the plan, I send them to him because I go by what they want.” she continued.
Padilla also addressed recent developments involving Abrenica’s current partner, actress AJ Raval, who publicly shared details about their own child last November. Padilla said she had since expressed support for Raval and her journey into motherhood.
