Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting District Director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio on Tuesday reported a peaceful observance of the first day of Simbang Gabi across Quezon City.
“As of today, no untoward incidents were recorded in 72 places of worship, where 171 police personnel were strategically deployed to ensure the safety and security of churchgoers. An estimated 27,460 faithful attended the dawn masses, marking a smooth and orderly start to the traditional Simbang Gabi celebrations,” Silvio said.
The QCPD said heightened security measures will remain in effect throughout the Aguinaldo Masses to maintain public safety during the observances.
“I commend the deployed personnel and the public for their vigilance and discipline. This reflects the strong cooperation between the police, church authorities, and the community in maintaining peace and order throughout the Masses and the holiday season,” Silvio added.
