Malacañang announced Tuesday the appointment of Anna Liza Logan as the new Presidential Chief Legal Counsel, filling the position left vacant by the late Juan Ponce Enrile.
Logan, who previously served as Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs, brings extensive legal experience in civil and criminal litigation, along with family, labor, and human settlements adjudication commission cases.
She is currently a partner at the law firm Logan Masukat Ronulo Huang. She previously worked as a junior partner at Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan, the firm associated with First Lady Liza Marcos.
Earlier this year, Logan was among the nominees for the position of Ombudsman following the retirement of Samuel Martires.
The appointment was part of a broader reshuffle of officials within Malacañang under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. During a media briefing, Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro introduced Logan along with seven new officials within the Office of the Executive Secretary, which is now led by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
