Coco Martin’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ not getting the axe

COCO Martin

There’s no truth to rumors circulating on social media that Coco Martin’s Batang Quiapo will air its last episode on 2 January 2026.

An online entertainment portal floated the news that Martin’s show is nearing its end on air, something that is bereft of truth.

What the online website failed to realize is that ABS-CBN will not allow a TV program of gargantuan proportion to fold up just like that. Batang Quiapo is a flagship show and the toprating action series and there is no way that the Kapamilya network will allow it to get the boot that easy.

So, what’s the palpable truth about the seemingly fake news being floated around?

Batang Quiapo will end its airing on 2 January 2026 but only on TV5. The Coco Martin TV starrer will continue to air, not on the Kapatid network but in the Eddie Villanueva channel, A2Z (A2Z Channel 11), Kapamilya channel and iWant.

This is an offshoot of ABS-CBN’s receipt of a notice of termination of its TV Content Supply Agreement from TV5.

Actually, Batang Quiapo is the most watched show on TV5 and the program with most advertisers and its on-air cancellation next month is the Kapatid network’s biggest loss.

Most TV5-produced shows are non-rating. They’re lucky to have three percent rating in their shows.

Angelica, Ellen follow each other on Instagram

They were never friends on social media before but at the rate things are going, Angelica Panganiban and Ellen Adarna might find themselves BFF (best friends forever) online.

ANGELICA Panganiban

It was Karen Davila’s online interview with Panganiban, which seemingly made the two gravitate towards each other as they’re now following each other on Instagram.

Panganiban expressed disbelief at how Adarna’s romance with Derek Ramsay, her ex-boyfriend, ended.

“I was like disappointed in a way na, ‘O talaga ba (really)?’” Panganiban asked.

When asked if she was sad that Adarna and Ramsay parted ways, the actress sad: “I was looking for sadness. At first, I was thinking if I should care. ‘Do I really care?’ I don’t care but it was like, ‘Is it really?’ He (Ramsay) is almost 50 and yet he didn’t slow down.”

Can she and Adarna be friends?

Panganiban answered positively.

“I feel that. We have many things to talk about. As long as she does not do a screenshot... as long as she does not record it. I wasn’t even invited to the group chat. e!” she said.

With all that Adarna is going through, Panganiban wishes her well.

“She is very impressive. She is very courageous.

It’s like ‘Woah! How could she have done things that I didn’t do before? She’s great. Me? It took me a while before I moved on,” she said.

In the interview, Panganiban admitted having met Adarna once when she was still in a relationship with John Lloyd Cruz, who, incidentally is the father of Adarna’s first born son, Elias.
