TNT books quarterfinal berth

TNT booked a spot in the quarterfinals after beating NLEX, 119-100, in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Jordan Heading erupted for a team-high 32 points as the Tropang 5G snapped their two-game winning streak.

TNT head coach Chot Reyes reminded his boys to stay consistent from start to finish after failing to sustain their momentum in the past two games.

“First of all, we wanted to play a complete game. We lost in the past two games because we started really well and we faltered in the second half,” Reyes said.

“Today, coming into this game, our theme for the week was to put a complete game together and play well for 48 minutes.”

Calvin Oftana scored 19 points while Rey Nambatak had 15 points as the Tropang 5G improved to a 6-3 win-loss record.

JB Bahio and Kevin Alas had 13 points each for the Road Warriors, who sank to a 6-4 slate, as they will play the remainder of the elimination round without talisman Robert Bolick.

Bolick is currently in Thailand playing for Gilas Pilipinas in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
