Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on Thursday dismissed as “fake news” a circulating online memorandum that claimed government work would be suspended on 26 and 29 December 2025.
Recto publicly denied the authenticity of the purported document, which was labeled Memorandum Circular No. 47 and bore a forged version of his signature. The falsified document spread on social media earlier in the day.
The bogus circular claimed that an “extended break” had been declared for all government offices “to support the emotional and social wellness” of government workers.
Malacañang, however, stressed that Recto did not issue any order suspending work on those dates.
Both Friday, 26 December 2025, and Monday, 29 December 2025, are regular working days and are not included in the official list of regular holidays and special non-working days for 2025.
