Joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 4A Special Enforcement Teams 1 and 2, PDEA Rizal Provincial Office, PNP Provincial Intelligence Team Rizal, Binangonan Municipal Police Station, and the Rizal Police Provincial Office dismantled a suspected shabu laboratory in Binangonan, Rizal, on Tuesday night, 9 December.

Initial reports reaching the office of Rizal police provincial director P/Col. Feloteo Gonzalgo showed that the operatives, by virtue of a search warrant, raided a suspected laboratory located at Lot 2 Block 2, Montalban Street corner Anonuevo Street, Barangay Macamot, Binangonan.

At about 11:40 p.m., the joint operatives served a search warrant after coordinating with barangay officials and confiscated 80 pieces of white plastic gallons containing a liquid substance suspected to be controlled precursors and essential chemicals used in the manufacture of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

Seized in the operation were twenty-five pieces of plastic bottles containing molasses, five pieces of plastic bottle containers with liquid substance suspected to be controlled precursors and essential chemicals, approximately 10 kilograms of ephedrine, and fifteen pieces of round white plastic bottles containing controlled precursors and essential chemicals.

Also confiscated from the suspects were more or less 10 kilograms of suspected controlled precursors and essential chemicals, more or less 200 grams of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, more than 10 kilograms of brownish powdered substance, three sacks of white crystalline substance, two sacks of brownish powdered substance, a big green container with liquid substance suspected to be controlled precursors and essential chemicals, and several drug paraphernalia, equipment, and apparatus.

Operatives are still conducting an investigation into the alleged shabu operation, believed to be run by a well-organized group of foreign nationals and Filipino accomplices.

Charges for violation of Section 8 (manufacture of dangerous drugs and/or controlled precursors and essential chemicals), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the subject of the warrant, who has not yet been identified by the police.
