The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said on 4 December 2025, that it has relieved police personnel linked to the P14-million robbery incident in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Porac, Pampanga.
PRO3 said the “police personnel initially linked to the incident were relieved from their posts as a standard procedure while investigation is ongoing.”
A Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) has been formed to look into the case, with PRO3 noting that “all concerned units are securing evidence, validating timelines, and reviewing relevant information to establish full accountability.”
Regarding reports of alleged police involvement in another incident in Angeles City, PRO3 said it is determining the extent of personnel participation, with initial actions undertaken to ensure accountability.
“Measures will continue to be pursued to file cases once the investigation is complete. Commanders on the ground are empowered to address misconduct as necessary,” the statement said.
PRO3 assured the public that transparency, integrity, and professionalism remain “non-negotiable” in its operations.
The investigation began after a private contractor in Porac reported losing P14 million in a robbery allegedly carried out by five policemen. The incident has prompted calls for a deeper probe by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The robbery with intimidation took place around 8 p.m. on November 25, 2025, when three men in civilian clothes entered the home of Ma. Debbie Lumanlan Lacson. The suspects allegedly held her, a companion, and two young children at gunpoint before fleeing on motorcycles with the cash.
The suspects are reportedly four police officers from Angeles City and one from Zambales. Their fellow officers have written an open letter to DILG Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, claiming that the investigation was being hampered.
