Mount Grace, IRCAD Taiwan boost surgeons’ MIS skills

DT

Mount Grace Hospitals, Inc. (MGHI), in partnership with IRCAD Taiwan, has launched a two-day workshop aimed at strengthening the surgical capabilities of Filipino doctors in the field of minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

The “Fundamental Techniques in Minimally Invasive Surgery Workshop” was held on 15 to 16 November 2025, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, marking another milestone in the collaboration between MGHI and IRCAD Taiwan — recognized as Asia’s premier surgical training institute.

A total of 43 doctors from Mount Grace partner hospitals nationwide participated in the training, which featured world-class instruction from IRCAD Taiwan’s roster of specialists. The program focused on developing foundational MIS competencies, reflecting the growing demand for advanced, less invasive procedures in the country.

The workshop was supported by Unilab, KARL STORZ Endoscopy Philippines, and Medtronic, whose contributions helped deliver hands-on, high-precision training for the delegates.

MGHI said the initiative aligns with its mission to deliver “Better Access, Better Service, Better Health” to Filipino patients by investing in the continuous upskilling of healthcare professionals.
