Lito Magno appointed as new NBI acting chief

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed lawyer Angelito “Lito” Magno as the acting director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), following the resignation of former director Jaime Santiago.

Magno had been serving as the officer-in-charge (OIC) of the NBI prior to his appointment. 

The official appointment order states, “pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby appointed acting director (Director VI), NBI, Department of Justice.”

Magno began his career at the NBI in April 1991 and served as Assistant Director for Legal Service before rising to the rank of director in March 2010.
