The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) received two major distinctions from the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG), underscoring its improved performance and strengthened commitment to sustainability and good governance.

During the GCG Awards Ceremony on 1 December, PAGCOR earned a 99.92 percent rating on its 2024 Performance Evaluation Scorecard and was also conferred the Sustainability Award for its “exemplary efforts in upholding sustainability values and best practices in corporate governance.”

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco said the recognitions reflect the agency’s ongoing efforts to enhance operations, strengthen regulatory systems, and ensure that revenues consistently support key public programs.

“Our strong 2024 Performance Evaluation Scorecard rating and the Sustainability Award highlight not just operational excellence but also our commitment to transparency, good governance, and nation-building,” Tengco said. “These awards from the GCG affirm the work we have done to make PAGCOR a transparent, accountable, and high-performing GOCC. It also strengthens our resolve to serve with integrity.”

Tengco added that PAGCOR “will continue to raise the bar of government service by ensuring that our revenues support essential social services and uplift communities that need help the most.”

In 2024, the state gaming regulator remitted P68.20 billion to nation-building efforts, funding programs that include infrastructure development and disaster response. It has also consistently turned over substantial dividends to the National Treasury to support priority initiatives such as healthcare, sports development, and renewable energy.

“PAGCOR remains an active partner of the government not only in revenue generation but also in laying the foundation for a stronger nation,” Tengco said. “Good governance must translate to real service for the Filipino people. That is why we ensure that every peso generated by PAGCOR is channeled to programs that protect livelihoods, enhance public infrastructure, and support nation-building.”

The GCG Awards honor GOCCs that demonstrate outstanding performance and accountability based on stringent evaluation benchmarks. PAGCOR’s dual citations this year highlight its sustained operational gains and commitment to responsible gaming and national development.
