Yellow was the absolute color of the day as Minions Run 2025 painted the SM Mall of Asia Complex into a vibrant hue in this banana-fueled race filled with energy and laughter on Sunday.
About 15,000 runners participated in one of the biggest races of the year as they turned into the small, yellow capsule-shaped creations of super villain Gru.
Vincent Avestruz won the 10K race, timing at 33:43, followed by Mark Angelo Biagtan (35:12) and Daryl Rodemio (36:40); while Mary Jane Pagayon was the fastest among the females at 39:14, ahead of Maricar Camacho (40:04) and Decerie Encomio (40:38).
“Minions Run 2025 surpassed all our expectations,” RUNRIO president and chief executive officer Rio de la Cruz said of the event that also had SM Mall of Asia as venue partner.
“Seeing thousands of runners laughing, bonding, and embracing the fun spirit of the Minions reminds us why this run has become such a beloved annual celebration.”
Cavin Vidal topped the men's 5K with 17:13, with Justwin Guerrero (17:42) and Jerrickson Manipol (19:54) trailing; as Shaira Mae Fantilaga won the women's side at 21:15, besting Jo Punay (21:57) and Jocelyn Elijeran (22:48).
Joseph Fontamillas was also the finest in the men's 3K timing in at 12:03, outrunning AJ Joakim (12:46) and Ganimid Alvarez Jr. (13:11); while Christine Galicia had the best time in the women's division at 16:01, with Jeany Kris Alfeche (16:11) and Tiara Jerisse Medina (17:17) trailing.
