Looking for Juan, a Filipino for-purpose brand, has launched Sulat Habang Buhay, a meaningful collaboration with media professional Noel Ferrer and illustrator Aldy Aguirre. The project centers on a letter-writing journal kit designed to revive the lost art of handwritten correspondence — a gentle invitation to slow down, gather one’s thoughts, and reconnect with others in an age dominated by digital noise.
Thoughtfully assembled, the kit encourages heartfelt expression at one’s own time and pace. It offers a quiet space to reach out to loved ones, mend bonds that may have drifted, or simply write to oneself in moments of reflection. Each set includes a vegan leather cover available in eight elegant colors, a refillable stationery pad, a set of prompt cards to inspire sincere writing, and envelopes for sending or keeping the letters safe.
The process begins by choosing a card with an artwork that resonates in the moment. The prompt on the back guides the writer toward honest introspection. From there, one begins a letter on the stationery pad, seals it in an envelope, and either gives it to someone special or keeps it as a personal memento. What appears to be a simple ritual becomes a powerful practice of storytelling, healing, and self-discovery.
“These are stories of timeless inspiration, abundant life, boundless love, and unending grace,” says Noel, who crafted the prompts. “A piece of forever,” he adds. A writer, educator, and multi-awarded media professional, Noel brings to Sulat Habang Buhay his enduring belief in literacy, creativity, and human connection.
For Aldy Aguirre, the project is both artistic and intimate. “Ang inspirasyon ko ay umiikot sa relasyon natin — sa mahal sa buhay, sa kapwa, at lalo na sa sarili. Sa mga emosyon na naiisantabi dahil sa mabilis na takbo ng buhay (My inspiration revolves around our relationships — with loved ones, with others, and most especially with ourselves. It comes from the emotions we set aside because of the fast pace of life),” shares the award-winning artist and illustrator, known for his celebrated contributions to Filipino children’s literature, including works recognized by the Gintong Aklat Awards and the National Children’s Book Awards.
In a world where conversations vanish with a swipe, Sulat Habang Buhay reminds us that words written with presence endure. Each page becomes an invitation to reconnect — with others, with oneself, and with what truly matters.
A portion of every purchase helps fund children’s literacy. Proceeds support the “One Million Books for One Million Filipino Children” campaign, implemented with the Center for Art, New Ventures, and Sustainable Development. More than half a million books have already reached public schools and underserved communities across the country.
