Atom Araullo, one of the country’s most respected broadcast journalists, offered a rare glimpse into his personal life during his appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, confirming that he has been in a committed relationship for years.
When Boy Abunda asked if he currently has a girlfriend, Atom responded candidly, revealing that the relationship is far from new.
“Matagal na. How many years? See—We don’t even count. It’s been a while,” he said, offering a brief smile before moving on to the next question.
While he did not mention names, the traditionally private Kapuso journalist acknowledged that his partner is also someone familiar to the public.
“She is public. I think people know. People on social media know. They see us often,” he shared.
The conversation naturally shifted to the possibility of marriage, a topic Atom approached with honesty and clarity.
“That’s always in someone’s mind when they’re in a serious relationship. So, definitely, it’s something that you think about. Something that you’re ready for. I’m not setting a deadline or timeline for it,” he said.
Atom’s openness resonated with many viewers, especially given his reputation for keeping his personal affairs away from the spotlight. His grounded perspective on love, commitment, and the future reflects the same sincerity he brings to his work.
Beyond the personal revelations, Atom is gearing up for the release of his latest documentary under The Atom Araullo Specials. His upcoming episode, “Magic Island,” explores the mysteries, culture, and lived experiences of the people of Siquijor. The special airs on November 30 at 3:15 p.m. on GMA Network.
