The Women's Tennis Association officially listed the Philippine Women's Team Open in its 2026 WTA 125 calendar.
Filipino tennis fans can now mark their calendars as the competition is set from 26 to 31 January 2026 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Alex Eala, who currently sits at No. 50 in the world rankings, has yet to confirm her place as it would clash with her campaign in the Australian Open, which will be from 12 January to 1 February 2026 in Australia.
The 20-year-old netter previously expressed her excitement over the prospect of competing again on home soil.
“If it were to happen, I would be so happy and it's just such a milestone for Philippine tennis. Not just obviously for me, but for everybody there because growing up like we never had these kinds of tournaments. As long as I can remember,” Eala said.
“We didn't even have a 15k in professional international tournaments. So to come in with a WTA 125 is such a big step and I'm so proud of how far we've come and you know it's only the start.”
