Red notice may be issued for Zaldy Co — DILG

A red notice can be issued anytime against fugitive former congressman Zaldy Co. This was announced by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor ‘Jonvic’ Remulla early Monday morning during a press conference held at Camp Crame.

A red notice is issued by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to apprehend an individual subject to deportation due to a pending criminal case.

"We will find you," Remulla said, referring to Co, who has already been issued a "blue notice" by the BI, which enforces cooperation between member countries regarding individuals facing criminal investigations or prosecution.

"Blue Notice is out. Red Notice can be out (soon)," Remulla said. He added that Co and 17 others, including officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), are being hunted over irregularities in flood control projects in Oriental Mindoro.

Remulla said three of Co's co-accused—Aderma Alcazar, reportedly in New Zealand; Cesar Buenaventura, in New York, both from Sunwest; and Montrexis Tamayo of the DPWH Planning and Design Division, believed to be in Jordan—have contacted authorities and are expected to report to embassies to begin immediate repatriation to the Philippines.

Co, meanwhile, is untraceable as he reportedly might be using different passport and name, according to Remulla.
