CenterLaw urges recognition of 58th Ampatuan massacre victim

CenterLaw Philippines Executive Director Attorney Gilbert Andres filed an urgent motion on Monday, 24 November 2025, asking the Court of Appeals to finally resolve the pending appeals in the Ampatuan massacre cases without further delay and to reiterate judicial recognition for the 58th victim, Reynaldo “Bebot” Momay. Sixteen years after the gruesome murder of 58 people—including 32 journalists—the remains of photojournalist Bebot Momay were never recovered. The Ampatuan massacre on 23 November 2009 remains the deadliest single attack on journalists in world history.
