Woman from China wanted for theft nabbed at NAIA

A 55-year-old woman who arrived from China was nabbed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in an operation by the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

PNP-AVSEGROUP reported on Saturday that the woman was arrested on 21 November by virtue of a standing warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Pasig City on 11 May 2022. 

The warrant covers seven counts of Qualified Theft through Falsification of Commercial Documents, which is a non-bailable offense. 

Authorities said the woman was a former assistant manager of a bank in the Philippines. 

She is currently under the custody of the CIDG Southern Metro Manila District pending documentation and further legal procedures.
