VinFast has announced the winners of its PiliPinas design voting contest, wrapping up a two-week run that drew more than 20,000 votes from Filipinos across the country.
The activity asked the public to choose their preferred interior and exterior looks for the brand’s upcoming electric vehicle lineup, turning the process into a nationwide crowdsourced design exercise.
A total of 303 prizes worth P5.1 million were awarded during the live announcement. Three participants received P150,000 each after correctly predicting the most favored design and the final vote count.
Another 20 individuals won between P40,000 and P80,000 for being closest to the results across the VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8 and VF 9 categories.
VinFast also recognized creativity from the public, handing out 130 gifts worth P15,000 each to those who submitted original design concepts.
On top of that, 150 voters were randomly chosen to receive P10,000-prizes. All in all, 303 people walked away with winnings.
The PiliPinas contest ran from 24 October to 7 November and featured fifty design options for VinFast’s five EV models. These were new concepts developed by the company’s global creative team, giving voters a diverse mix of shapes, colors, and cabin layouts to choose from.
Voting was done both online and through 30 physical ballot boxes placed around the country, a setup meant to keep the process open and accessible.
The contest drew thousands of direct entries, including more than one hundred unique design submissions from participants living in cities and smaller island communities.
VinFast said the strong response showed how engaged Filipinos are in imagining what future EVs should look like and how design choices could help shape mobility in the coming years.
Antonio Zara, ceo of VinFast Southeast Asia, said the brand aims to involve consumers beyond the usual buying process.
He noted that the contest was created to let Filipinos play an active role in the models that may eventually be seen on local roads, adding that the ideas shared reflected traits strongly associated with Filipino drivers, including resilience and optimism.
VinFast has been ramping up its presence in the Philippines for a little over a year, adding showrooms, staging test drive events and expanding local partnerships.
The brand continues to push its goal of promoting greener mobility while positioning the country as an important part of its regional growth.
