ILOILO CITY — Western Visayas’ headline inflation climbed to 0.7 percent in October 2025, slightly higher than the 0.2 percent posted in September, but still far below the 4.1 percent recorded in the same month last year, the Philippine Statistics Authority–Region 6 (PSA WV) reported.
PSA WV said the mild increase was mainly driven by higher prices in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, along with food and non-alcoholic beverages, and restaurants and accommodation services.
Upward movements were also recorded in furnishings and household maintenance, transport, recreation, sport and culture, and personal care and miscellaneous goods and services.
Meanwhile, slower inflation was noted in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, as well as clothing and footwear. Price movements for health, information and communication, education services, and financial services remained unchanged.
From January to October 2025, the region’s average inflation settled at 1.5 percent, PSA WV added.
