Harry Potter: Visions of Magic in Singapore is a large-scale interactive art experience that really brought out the Potterhead in me.
Designed as a sequence of 10 immersive rooms, two of which are exclusive to Singapore, the experience highlights the depth, mystery and artistry behind the bestselling franchise’s most elusive sets.
The journey begins aboard the Knight Bus, presented as a surreal and distorted ride through the streets of London. The installation plays with perspective, motion, and light to evoke the chaotic energy of the iconic triple-decker with the voice of Stan Shunpike in the background.
Next, Grimmauld Place is reimagined as a shadowy, mysterious corner. Here, the Black family’s ancestral home appears and disappears behind shifting façades. Point your wand and you might see Sirius Black on the wall.
The Ministries of Magic highlights the order, structure and spectacle of the governing wizarding institution. Try the phone booth and you might get the chance to call your favorite wizard.
Visitors enter the Hall of Prophecy, a mirrored chamber that stretches seemingly infinitely, lined with glowing, luminous orbs. Point your wand at any orb, and it reveals a long-awaited prophecy, immersing you further in the mystical wizarding world of Harry Potter.
From there, the path leads to the Chamber of Secrets, one of the Singapore-exclusive rooms. This section recreates the cavernous lair beneath Hogwarts, marked by stone textures, serpentine motifs, and atmospheric lighting that captures the tension and history of the space once inhabited by Tom Riddle.
Inspired by the magical suitcase of the legendary magizoologist, Newt’s Menagerie invites guests into a world where fantastic beasts thrive. Dynamic LED walls bring these creatures to life, offering fascinating insights into some of Newt’s most beloved companions and their magical habitats.
The darker corners of the wizarding world emerge in Knockturn Alley, rendered with narrow passages, shadowy façades, and enigmatic artifacts that hint at the alley’s notorious dark reputation.
Filled with surprises, magical effects, and the sense that the room is thinking right along with you, the Room of Requirement captures the wonder of Hogwarts’ most elusive chamber, appearing only when you truly need it.
Another Singapore-only feature, The Trap Door, revisits the legendary sequence leading to the Philosopher’s Stone. This environment is structured as a progression of chambers, each designed to reflect a different stage of the original challenges, combining interactive elements with detailed set design.
After completing the circuit, guests can visit the merchandise store to buy exclusive collectibles, replica wands, bespoke souvenirs, and official Harry Potter merchandise. Light bites and the signature Butterbeer are also available at the Butterbeer Café.
Harry Potter: Visions of Magic is located at the Resorts World Sentosa, one of Asia’s leading lifestyle destinations known for its world-class attractions, hotels, and dining options. The experience typically lasts about 60 minutes although I was inside for two hours. Guests are free to move at their own pace.
Convenient access to Harry Potter: Visions of Magic is available via the Sentosa Express from VivoCity, alighting at Resorts World Station and following the short walk toward The Weave.
