The town of Porac celebrated its annual Farmers’ Day with a series of activities on Friday, 21 November.

With the theme “Masaganang Pupul” or Abundant Harvest, the event was led by the Municipal Agriculturist Office of Porac and highlighted the vital role of farmers and fisherfolk in the municipality.

One of the main attractions was the Agricultural Float Parade Contest, participated in by all 28 barangays of the town, showcasing creative displays featuring local crops, farming tools, and agri-themed designs.

Former president and Pampanga 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Porac Mayor Jaime V. Capil, Vice Mayor Trisha Angelie G. Capil, and Municipal Agriculturist Officer Engr. Joceline C. Buan were among the officials who graced the celebration.

Also present was Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon Regional Technical Director for Operations and Extensions Arthur D. Dayrit, Ph.D., who joined the local government in honoring the farmers.

Now on its 13th Founding Anniversary, Porac’s Farmers’ Day has been celebrated annually to recognize the dedication and hard work of the town’s farmers and fisherfolk—sectors the municipality considers the backbone of its local economy.
