Navotas City has strengthened its anti-drug campaign through the arts as its anti-drug abuse council launched a poster-making and painting contest in celebration of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week.
The program aims to give young people a voice and encourage them to become active advocates of health and community order.
In the poster-making contest, Meiziah Einjel dela Cruz of Tangos Elementary School won first place, followed by Shanead Maui Tamayo of Bangkulasi Elementary School in second place and Queency AJ Taborada of Navotas Elementary School in third place.
In the painting contest, Josh Nathaniel Victorio of Navotas National High School emerged as champion. Prince Russel Dasmariñas of San Roque National High School placed second, while Carelle Diaz of Kaunlaran High School finished third.
According to the local government, activities such as these provide a safe and meaningful space for the youth to express their anti-drug messages while honing their artistic talents.
