The Philippines got stomped on by Poland, 6-0, to kick off its FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup campaign last Friday at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City.

Julia Basta scored a brace in the 7th and 24th minutes for the Polish as they picked up their first win of the tournament.

Natalia Matuszewska (19th), Julia Szostak (23rd), Lanie Ortillo (26th) and Klaudia Dyminska (30th) added their names in the scoresheet.

Despite the loss, Filipina5 head coach Rafa Merino was still happy to see the squad compete.

“I don’t see this as a loss. I think we really played a good game even for the entire 40 minutes. Poland is a good team. I’m happy with how they competed," Merino said in Spanish.

The Philippines will take on Morocco on Monday at 8:30 p.m. at the same venue.
