Acting Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., on Saturday ensured maximum readiness of the police, placing the entire force on full alert for the three-day peaceful assemblies beginning 16 November.

“With the expected influx of people, we have activated a comprehensive security plan that covers ground operations, traffic management, intelligence monitoring, emergency response, and maritime patrols. All teams are ready to move and respond as needed,” Nartatez said.

He added that deployments began as early as Saturday morning, with full forces positioned on the ground by the start of the assemblies.

The PNP chief reiterated respect for the public’s right to peaceful assembly but urged participants to follow safety reminders, cooperate with officers on the ground, and help maintain calm and order throughout the event.

“Kami ay nakahanda at naninindigan sa aming tungkulin na patuloy na pangangalagaan ang kaligtasan at kapayapaan ng bawat Pilipino,” Nartatez added.

According to Nartatez, the full alert took effect at 5:00 p.m. on 14 November, mobilizing police personnel nationwide. Police units have been strategically assigned throughout Metro Manila, while regional offices across the country have been directed to intensify security operations in their respective areas.

“These measures are aimed to maintain peace and safety amid the anticipated influx of participants, commuters, and residents,” he said. He added that the public should expect heightened police visibility across Metro Manila and other major areas during the three-day event.
