The Land Transportation Office–National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) reaffirmed Saturday its commitment to improving services and making government transactions more accessible with the relaunch of the LTO–San Juan District Office.
LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque “Rox” I. Verzosa III said the reopening marks another step toward bringing government services closer to the public. The office, despite its name, was previously located in Quezon City. It is now officially situated at 1 North Domingo St., corner F. Blumentritt, San Juan Plaza, San Juan City.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, San Juan City Rep. Ysabel Maria Zamora, Assistant Regional Director Atty. Dennis Barion and LTO San Juan District Office officer-in-charge Teresita M. Lorilla attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao was represented by Executive Director Atty. Greg G. Pua.
The new district office will function as a one-stop shop offering faster and more efficient services for San Juan residents.
Previously, the old office handled only renewals of motor vehicle registrations and driver’s licenses. The relaunched office now includes a licensing section, allowing applicants to apply for new driver’s licenses and renew existing ones.
Lorilla said the reopening means San Juan residents no longer need to travel to other cities for their LTO transactions.
The expanded office will offer miscellaneous services, including transfer of ownership, issuance of duplicate certificates of registration, duplicate driver’s licenses and other related transactions.
Accredited medical clinics and driving schools are located near the new office to facilitate processing for new driver’s license applicants.
Verzosa said the relaunch was carried out under the guidance of Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez and Assistant Secretary Lacanilao.
