ITCZ, amihan to rain out protest?

Eliana Lacap

Would fair weather bless the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) protest starting Sunday? Maybe not.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected across MIMAROPA, the Bicol Region, Quezon and much of the Visayas and Mindanao due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.

The Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with light rains, while the Ilocos Region will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains brought by the northeast monsoon or amihan.

But Metro Manila, where the INC will stage its three-day protest, may encounter localized thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening.

Moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters are expected over Northern Luzon. The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions.
