Dizon defends PBBM against flood control allegations

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) chief Vince Dizon defended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. from allegations made by former Ako-Bicol Representative Zaldy Co, who claimed that the president is linked to the anomalous flood control scam.

“Why would you do all this? Why would you form an independent commission? Why would you say that everyone who should be held accountable should be held accountable? And why would you say that before Christmas someone will definitely be in jail?” Dizon said in Filipino Friday afternoon.

He added that Marcos’ efforts to combat corruption are not consistent with what Co has been pointing out.

It can be noted that the flood control scandal was exposed by Marcos in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 2025.

Dizon also expressed the Cabinet's full support for Marcos as the latter faces the allegation.

“The entire Cabinet is behind the President because he himself brought this scandal to light,” he said.

On 15 November, Dizon also stated that Co, alongside the contractor couple Pacifico and Cezarah Discaya and other involved officials, will be the first to be held accountable for the flood control scandal.
