The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Hansel M. Marantan, successfully recovered two vehicles linked to a Talon-Casa financing scheme and a locally alarmed pickup truck previously reported as carnapped.
In Bataan, personnel of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT) Bataan under Regional Highway Patrol Unit 3 (RHPU-3) conducted an anti-carnapping operation along Roman Highway in the town of Orani.
The operation resulted in the recovery of a Toyota Vios involved in a Talon-Casa scheme and reported to Toyota Financial Services Philippines Corporation for non-payment of monthly amortizations.
The recovered vehicle is currently impounded at PHPT Bataan for documentation, verification, and proper disposition. Investigators are coordinating with concerned financial institutions to determine the full extent of the case.
In Cotabato, personnel of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (RHPU-BAR) Special Operations Team, in coordination with PHPT Midsayap (RHPU-12), recovered a locally alarmed Mitsubishi Strada pickup near Roger’s Buko Station in Barangay Manuangan, Pigcawayan.
The operation stemmed from a report by the registered owner, who personally appeared before RHPU-BAR after spotting his stolen vehicle in the area. Responding officers found the pickup truck abandoned at the site.
Verification confirmed that the vehicle was previously reported as carnapped by Upi MPS, Maguindanao del Norte, with the suspect identified only by the alias “Abel.”
The unit is now under the custody of the RHPU-BAR Investigation Section for further investigation and appropriate disposition.
“The successful recovery of these vehicles demonstrates the Highway Patrol Group’s vigilance and inter-regional coordination in tracking down assets linked to fraud and carnapping,” said PBGEN Hansel M. Marantan, Director, PNP-HPG.
“Through our intensified verification efforts and coordination with partner agencies, we continue to protect the interests of vehicle owners and financial institutions nationwide.”
