The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office III (DOST 3) has turned over a Mobile Command and Control Vehicle (MOCCOV) to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Zambales during a ceremony at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center in Bulacan on 12 November 2025.

PDRRMO Zambales official Rolex E. Estella received the MOCCOV, which will serve as a mobile command hub during calamities or emergencies. It is equipped with communications and monitoring systems designed to speed up coordination, data gathering, and emergency response across the province.

The turnover of the MOCCOV forms part of the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) program of the DOST, which aims to strengthen the capacity of local governments in leveraging science and technology for disaster preparedness and community development in Central Luzon.

The ceremony coincided with the opening of the 2025 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW), held at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center with the theme, “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan.”

The project reflects the continued coordination and partnership between DOST and the Provincial Government of Zambales, led by Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., in adopting modern technology to build a safer, stronger, and more resilient province.
