Exasperated over a recent disparaging report about him, Milano Sanchez, younger brother of broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, is reportedly considering legal action, though he did not name anyone specifically in his latest Facebook post.

"Okay! Grabe… I just started to recover from that nightmare!" he wrote, referring to what appears to be an online report that painted him in a negative light.

"Basically, what's important is what my children believe in… the truth. That show had one intention: ruin me… with disinformation," he stressed, hinting at possible legal steps.

"Having said that, I started talking with my lawyer on my options. I will not take this sitting down," he added.

The 'Showbiz Now Na' report

Four days ago, on 8 November, the online show Showbiz Now Na, hosted by Cristy Fermin, Rommel Chicka and Wendel Alvarez, aired a segment on Korina Sanchez’s younger brother.

In the episode titled “Milano hiniwalayan ng GF dahil sa pangungutang”, Fermin claimed they had an exclusive scoop. She noted her long-standing connections with Filipinos in Canada as part of her research.

"When the report of Milano courting Claudine Barretto spread, it reached the Filipino community in Canada. It was so widespread," Fermin said.

Filipinos in Canada reportedly reacted skeptically to the claim that Sanchez had been courting Barretto for five years, noting that he already had a girlfriend of the same duration. Fermin identified his girlfriend as Patty.

According to Fermin, Milano met Patty through former GMA news anchor Rea Santos, now based in Vancouver.

"Milano is friends with Rea's husband and Claudine's deceased brother, Mito," she said.

Fermin claimed that Milano and Patty had recently broken up, questioning how he could have been courting Barretto for five years. She even challenged her co-hosts to ask why Milano and Patty ended their relationship.

"At first, Patty wanted Milano to permanently reside in Canada, but he refused because he can't live apart from his children," Fermin explained.

She also shared that Patty often spent generously during their trips abroad, mostly in Europe.

"Patty's friends say, 'You know Patty. She's like a gay when she's in love,'" Fermin added.

The columnist-host further claimed that Korina Sanchez had helped Milano financially, including supporting his children’s education. Fermin suggested that Milano occasionally borrowed money from Patty for various expenses, including tuition fees, and that Korina allegedly paid off some of his debts.

Before Patty, Fermin noted, Milano had been in a relationship with another woman surnamed Trillo.

Milano’s response

In his Facebook post, Sanchez thanked friends who reached out during the controversy:

"Maraming salamat! I truly appreciate it."

He also expressed gratitude to Claudine Barretto: "To CB, thank you! I am very lucky to have someone on my side, like you. I must say, I’m very honored to be defended by a queen!"

Apologizing for dragging her into the issue, he added: "Sorry ah. My past has become an issue that dragged you pa in it. Kakahiya sa iyo tuloy… and kakahiya at humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa mga Claudinians. Your fans really love and care for you! Sobrang blessed ka! Priceless! My promise still stands. Again, thank you very much, and I'll see you tomorrow."
