The Philippine Navy (PN) has placed all its units on heightened alert to support potential humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations in the aftermath of Super Typhoon #UwanPH (international name Fung-wong).
In a statement on Monday, the Navy said this readiness extends to all disaster response, rescue, and support teams.
Units based in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, as well as Naval Base Heracleo Alano and Naval Station Pascual Ledesma in Cavite City, conducted checks to ensure personnel, vehicles, and equipment are fully prepared for immediate deployment.
“The activation includes disaster response, communications, and medical teams, ready to provide assistance and support rescue and relief operations,” the statement said.
The PN emphasized that these measures underscore its commitment to operational readiness and swift response during crises. “The PN remains steadfast in its mission of service, security, and humanitarian assistance, always ready to protect and support the Filipino people amid calamities,” it added.
