Globe Telecom announced it is supporting communities affected by super typhoon “Uwan” by activating free communication services across eight areas in Luzon, while simultaneously continuing restoration and relief efforts for areas previously battered by typhoon “Tino.”
To assist affected residents, Globe has activated its “Libreng Tawag, Charging, and WiFi” (LT/LC/LW) services in eight confirmed locations: Cauayan City, Isabela; two sites in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Talavera, Nueva Ecija; Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija; Guimba, Nueva Ecija; Naga City, Camarines Sur; and Lasam, Cagayan. Additional LT/LC/LW activations are ongoing in other affected provinces.
Through its “Alagang Globe” program, the company distributed 600 meals to 200 families in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, and Aparri, Cagayan, as part of its continuing relief operations. Meanwhile, network restoration in areas hit by typhoon “Tino” is progressing steadily. Globe reported 100 percent network availability in Aklan, Antique, Biliran, Bohol, Capiz, Eastern Samar, Guimaras, Iloilo, Northern Samar, Western Samar and Siquijor. Restoration efforts are ongoing in Cebu (95.5 percent), Leyte (93.3 percent), Negros Oriental (98 percent), Negros Occidental (79 percent) and Southern Leyte (67 percent).
Globe affirmed that it remains closely coordinated with local government units and partners to sustain connectivity and deliver vital assistance to affected communities.
