The much-awaited rematch between San Beda University and Letran College will have to wait after the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the suspension of games for Tuesday due to Super Typhoon Uwan.
The NCAA management committee made the announcement late Sunday as heavy rains and strong winds are expected due to Uwan.
"In view of the announcement from Malacañang Palace regarding the suspension of classes and work in the National Capital Region on 10-11 November 2025, due to the threat of Super Typhoon #UwanPH, the NCAA prioritizes the safety of student-athletes, spectators, and all stakeholders," the NCAA said in a statement.
"Accordingly, all scheduled NCAA Basketball games on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at the Mall of Asia Arena are hereby canceled."
Both San Beda, which holds a 7-3 win-loss record, and Letran, which has a 6-4 slate, were supposed to face each other for a chance to earn a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.
The Red Lions were hoping to sweep the Knights in the elimination round after their 68-58 victory last 5 October at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
Another game postponed for Tuesday is between Lyceum of the Philippines University and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta at 11 a.m. at the same venue.
The NCAA postponed last Sunday's match between defending champion Mapua University and Arellano University as well as the clash between Emilio Aguinaldo College and College of Saint Benilde due to Uwan.
