The expanded number coding scheme was suspended by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday, 10 November, due to the expected impact of Super Typhoon Uwan.

In an advisory issued Sunday, the MMDA urged motorists to exercise caution while traveling and to remain updated on weather reports and emergency announcements.

According to PAGASA’s 11 a.m. cyclone bulletin, Metro Manila remains under Signal No. 3 as Uwan maintains its strength and is projected to make landfall over the central portion of Aurora on Sunday evening or early Monday morning.

On Sunday, Malacañang also announced the suspension of government work in nine regions on 10 November and the cancellation of classes in 12 regions from 10 to 11 November due to the storm’s expected impacts.
