The Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) has activated its disaster response teams, conducted pre-disaster risk assessments, and coordinated closely with local government units and disaster risk reduction councils in preparation for a potential super typhoon.

Led by Rizal police provincial director P/Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalgo, the PPO on Saturday morning, 8 November, conducted a disaster preparedness program at the Parade Grounds of Camp MGen Licerio I. Geronimo in Taytay, Rizal, in connection with the approaching Typhoon Uwan.

In his remarks, Gonzalgo stressed the need for proactive measures and readiness, noting that all personnel must be prepared for the possible impact of the typhoon.

The activity covered disaster response protocols, deployment planning, coordination with local DRRM offices, and safety reminders for both uniformed personnel and the general public. The initiative aims to ensure that police units and partner agencies are fully prepared to respond to emergency situations.

P/Maj. Joel Alvarez, acting chief of the Provincial Operations Management Unit, presented Rizal PPO’s available resources, which include search and rescue teams, medical units, quick reaction forces, and rescue equipment such as response vehicles and watercraft from the Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Gonzalgo also emphasized the importance of coordination, swift action, and inter-agency cooperation to ensure public safety during disasters.
