Zambales prepares for Typhoon Uwan

The Provincial Government is preparing for the incoming typhoon Uwan by conducting a coordination meeting of department heads led by Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) Engr. Domingo L. Mariano and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Rolex Estella held at the PEO in Iba, Zambales, on 7 November 2025.

The said meeting included officials from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, PGSO/ Treasury Office, PAcO, PBO, PPDO, PHO, DILG, Red Cross, NTC, DOH, and Philippine Army, with the aim to discuss steps to quickly respond to any disaster that the typhoon will cause.

According to reports from the various agencies, the typhoon is said to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today. The area of the typhoon is believed to be as huge as the archipelago, bringing in strong winds and continuous rains.

The meeting also discussed the readiness of the equipment for rescue operations food supplies, vehicles, personnel and evacuation centers all over Zambales.

Also presented in the meeting is the One Contact System/ Point of Contact (POC) that will be used by each and every department to immediately coordinate and communicate during the time of calamity.

As part of the preparation, the Calamity Action Committee of Zambales was formed that will spearhead in responding and monitoring the operation of the typhoon.

Zambaleños are urged to prepare for the incoming typhoon, ensuring that their houses are secured, readying all the basic necessities, and lifting all furniture especially those living in low-lying areas.

According to Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., the Provincial Government will continue to provide updates and ensure that the agency is making steps for the safety of every Zambaleños in the coming of Typhoon Uwan.
