LIVING SPACES

Calm in the city: A home that breathes

‘Our goal is simple: To help Filipinos live well — closer to work, closer to family, and closer to what matters most.’

Pauline Joyce Pascual

Nature — the way sunlight filters through leaves, the stillness of wind that slows the world, and the lesson that beauty begins with balance. This peaceful, beautiful rhythm is the inspiration for SMDC Nature, the newest residential brand from SM Development Corporation (SMDC), one of the country’s top and fastest-growing property developers.

It is more than just a place to live; it is a notion of home that lives, flows, and evolves alongside you. Imagine waking up to golden light reflected on green canopies, meandering along covered trails humming with birdsong, or returning home to air that feels fresher and freer.

Nature is more than just a backdrop in this community; it is its very heartbeat.

“SMDC Nature is about building homes that make everyday life lighter, healthier, and more connected,” said Jessica Bianca Sy, vice president and head of Design, Innovation, and Strategy at SMDC. “Our goal is simple: to help Filipinos live well — closer to work, closer to family, and closer to what matters most.”

Following the success of SMDC Heights and Symphony Homes, this new brand adds to SMDC’s increasing portfolio of concepts, each of which exemplifies the company’s view that home is a statement.

At the heart of SMDC Nature is a concept of a 15-minute home, where the necessities of life are always accessible. Schools, markets, transportation, and open green areas all work in tandem with your day, establishing a balance of accessibility and stillness.

“Accessibility is part of livability,” Sy explained. “It’s about being near what you need so life becomes easier and more enjoyable.”

Built into every corner

Every SMDC Nature community feels like an exhale, with broad sidewalks shaded by trees, sunlight shining through green courtyards, and soothing breezes blowing through open architecture.

It’s a choreography of space and calm, with wellness created as a way of life rather than an amenity.

“Nature isn’t something we add after,” Sy shared. “It’s built into how we plan our spaces — from the way air flows through buildings to how people move, rest, and connect.”

Each community is a living ecosystem, with air that circulates with purpose, gardens that promote thought, and parks that allow moments of delight — a child’s giggle, a quiet morning walk, an evening spent watching the sun alter the color of the sky.

Sustainability is not an afterthought; it’s the soil from which SMDC Nature grows. Every detail whispers responsibility like the solar systems and motion-sensor lighting that reduce power consumption by up to 35 percent translating to the prevention of over 250 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually per project, or the equivalent of planting more than 10,000 trees.

In developments such as Charm Residences and Field Residences, rainwater harvesting, dual-flush fixtures and detention tanks transform daily life into an act of care — conserving water, preventing floods, and allowing communities to live lightly on the land.

The launch also marked a new partnership between SMDC and Buskowitz Energy Inc., This collaboration will enable the installation of solar energy systems across multiple SMDC projects, generating clean power with zero upfront investment and aligning with SM Prime’s Net Zero by 2040 commitment.

The tagline, “Where Life Grows With You,” communicates a pledge to nurture.
that help people live well today and will be valuable for future generations.
