Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo has claimed the number one spot on Missosology’s latest Hot Picks list for Miss Universe 2025, strengthening her position as one of the frontrunners in this year’s competition.
In its feature, Missosology described Ahtisa as “not only a woman of poise and polish but a story of persistence, depth, and national pride.” The popular pageant site also highlighted her massive fan base spanning both the Philippines and Thailand, calling her “in perfect form, exuding undeniable aura and palpable confidence.”
“A victory by Ahtisa would carry symbolic weight,” Missosology added. “She would become the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe titleholder—further cementing the country’s reputation as a global pageant powerhouse.”
Rounding out the Top 5 in the current Hot Picks are Vanessa Pulgarin of Colombia, Laura Gnjatović of Croatia, Zashely Alicea of Puerto Rico, and Praveenar Singh of Thailand.
Ahtisa arrived in Thailand on Sunday, ready to compete for the country’s much-anticipated fifth Miss Universe crown. The Miss Universe 2025 coronation night is set for 21 November in Thailand.
However, the pageant has recently faced controversy. Earlier this week, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) barred Miss Universe Thailand national director Nawat Itsaragrisil from participating in official events.
In a video statement, MUO President Raul Rocha expressed “great indignation” toward Nawat for his “public aggression” against Fatima Bosch, the candidate from Mexico, whom he allegedly humiliated and disrespected. Rocha condemned Nawat’s “serious abuse” in calling security to “intimidate a defenseless woman.”
Nawat has since issued a public apology.
Tensions also arose between MUO and Miss Universe Thailand (MUT) over the latter’s “Special Dinner & Talk Show” promotional campaign, which MUO labeled unauthorized. MUT defended the event, saying it was within their rights as the host organization. The event was ultimately canceled on Thursday.
Despite the controversies, fans remain focused on the competition — and all eyes are on Ahtisa Manalo as she aims to bring home another crown for the Philippines.
