The Provincial Government of Bataan was recognized as the Top 1 in the Ratio of Locally Sourced Revenues to Total Current Operating Income for FY 2024 during the 38th Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) Stakeholders’ Recognition held on November 5, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, in Bonifacio Global City.

The event was led by Department of Finance Undersecretary Bayani Agabin and BLGF Executive Director Consolacion Agcaoil.

Provincial Treasurer Alice Magpantay and Provincial Assessor Engr. Ricky Herrera accepted the award on behalf of the Province of Bataan, which also placed Top 6 in Locally-Sourced Revenue Collections (FY 2024).

The municipalities of Mariveles, led by Mayor AJ Concepcion, and Limay, led by Mayor Richie David, were likewise recognized for their strong performance in local revenue generation.

“These recognitions prove that Bataan is financially resilient, accountable, and capable of sustaining development through its own locally generated resources,” Governor Joet Garcia said.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Zambales ranked Top 8 in Locally-Sourced Revenue Collections (FY 2024), outperforming most of the country's 82 provinces. Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr. received the award.

Zambales municipalities also earned multiple distinctions:

  • Masinloc: Top 10 in Year-on-Year Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues; Top 5 in Ratio of Locally Sourced Revenues to Total Current Operating Income.

  • San Marcelino: Top 7 in Year-on-Year Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues.

  • San Felipe: Top 3 in Year-on-Year Growth in Locally Sourced Revenues.

The recognitions highlight the provinces’ continued commitment to fiscal sustainability, efficient collection systems, and strengthened local governance.
