The heart of Quezon City sparkled brighter than ever as Araneta City officially ushered in the Christmas season with the grand lighting of its iconic giant Christmas tree on 6 November 2025. This much-awaited tradition, now in its 44th year, continues to unite generations in wonder, embodying this year’s theme — “Christmas Glows in the City: Built by Memories, Lit by Hope.”
Towering between the Smart Araneta Coliseum and Fiesta Carnival, the tree stands as a radiant symbol of Filipino holiday spirit. Adorned in festive red and gold, it features over 3,000 pine garlands, 8,000 shimmering lights, and hundreds of handcrafted ornaments that reflect both nostalgia and renewal.
Originally introduced in 1981, the Araneta City Christmas tree has witnessed decades of laughter, reunions, and celebrations. Its return to its original location marks not just a homecoming, but a heartfelt reminder of enduring traditions that light up every Filipino’s December.
The lighting ceremony drew an enthusiastic crowd, headlined by an all-star lineup of performers and special guests. Among those who lit up the stage were Vice Ganda, Joshua Garcia, and the Pinoy Big Brother Collab Edition winners Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo, joined by Bianca De Vera and Klarisse de Guzman.
Adding more festive beats were P-Pop group BGYO, and Tawag ng Tanghalanalumni Ian Manibale, Miah, and Bryan Chong. Hosting the night’s celebration were Alexa Ilacad and Jeremy G, keeping the audience entertained with warmth and wit.
The event also gathered Quezon City officials, Araneta Group executives, Barangay Socorro leaders, and the reigning Binibining Pilipinas queens, who all shared in the glow of the occasion.
In her message, Marjorie Go, Vice President for Marketing of Araneta City, reflected on the deeper meaning of this year’s theme.
“This year has brought its share of challenges, but the spirit of Christmas reminds us that hope always shines through. At Araneta City, we want to offer a place where people can reconnect with joyful memories and look forward to brighter days ahead.”
The celebration didn’t end with the tree lighting. Araneta City also launched its “Dashing Through the Glow” car raffle promo, giving shoppers the chance to win a Jetour T2 Lightning i-DM 2025 Plug-in Hybrid SUV for every P1,500 single-receipt purchase within the city from 7 November 2025 to 1 February 2026.
Meanwhile, the annual Parolan Bazaar near Farmers Garden continues to attract early shoppers searching for Christmas lights, ornaments, and home décor. The Giant Belen beside Farmers Plaza will be unveiled on 14 November, adding a spiritual glow to the cityscape.
To complete the yuletide experience, Araneta City promises weekend fireworks, choral performances, and the ever-delightful Santa Claus and Friends mall parade, bringing endless joy to families and mall-goers.
As the 11.11, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday sales roll in, the City of Firsts becomes an all-in-one holiday destination, offering great shopping deals and over 350 dining outlets to satisfy every festive craving.
Managed by ACI Inc., the Araneta Group’s property development arm, Araneta City remains a landmark of innovation, community, and tradition—continuing to shine as a city “built by memories, lit by hope.”
