#TinoPH deaths now 66

The death toll from Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmegi) has risen to 66, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported on Wednesday, as authorities continue recovery and validation efforts in the storm-hit regions.

Of the total fatalities, 49 were recorded in Cebu, while additional deaths were confirmed in Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and the Negros Island Region, according to OCD Deputy Administrator for Administration Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV.

He added that 26 individuals remain missing following the typhoon’s onslaught.

In a separate report, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Typhoon Tino has affected more than 706,000 people across seven regions, with around 348,000 individuals currently staying in evacuation centers as authorities continue to distribute relief aid and assess the full extent of the damage.
