Games today:
(Ninoy Aquino Stadium)
5:15 p.m. — Titan Ultra vs Blackwater
7:30 p.m. — Rain or Shine vs Phoenix
Rain or Shine eyes a lone view from the top of the standings in a clash with struggling Phoenix in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Philippine Cup today at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The Elasto Painters look to win their fourth in a row when they troop back to center court at 7:30 p.m.
Rain or Shine sports a 4-1 win-loss record and shares the pole position with Magnolia and TNT.
Fiery Elasto Painters head coach Yeng Guiao reminds his men not to take the Fuel Masters lightly despite Phoenix’s three-game slump.
Rain or Shine is coming off a 106-91 victory over Terrafirma last Friday but Guiao remains concerned about his team’s tendency to get tangled in close games. The Elasto Painters barely escaped Meralco, 96-95, and Titan Ultra, 112-111, in their previous outings.
“We cannot win close games every time,” he said.
“If we rely on breaks or we rely on getting lucky, there will be a day that luck won’t be on our side.”
Phoenix is coming off a close 80-83 loss to the Hotshots last Friday but the side of coach Willy Wilson is not losing hope of arresting its slide.
The Fuel Masters carry a 1-4 card at the bottom along with the Dyip and the Giant Risers.
Meanwhile, Titan Ultra and Blackwater aim to snap out of their current funk when they meet at 5:15 p.m.
The Giant Risers are looking to break out of their four-game slump capped by a heartbreaker to Rain or Shine last 26 October.
On the other hand, the Bossing lost three in a row, dropping to a 1-3 slate.
