An alleged pastor was intercepted at Clark International Airport on 1 November for attempting to traffic three Filipinos to work in scam hubs in Cambodia, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Monday.
BI identified the suspect as alias “Pastor Falcon,” who tried to go to Bangkok with three other individuals he claimed to be his churchmates.
Upon separate interviews, the three gave conflicting statements and later admitted they were bound for Cambodia to work as call center agents and a cook.
The three were lured by salaries of up to P50,000 a month. They said they sought the assistance of the said pastor after his claims of being able to escort workers out of the country.
Further records also showed that “Pastor Falcon” had previously traveled with another passenger who has yet to return to the Philippines.
The suspect and the three others have been turned over to the Clark Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking for the filing of charges and further investigation.
