21 accredited CSOs undergo selection for Zambales local special bodies

Some 21 accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) underwent the Selection of CSO Representatives to the Local Special Bodies at the Balin Sambali in the Capitol Town of Iba on 29 October 2025.

This is part of the thrust for participatory and inclusive governance led by DILG-Zambales OIC Melissa D. Nipal and Emmanuel Adaoag, along with Albert Aquino Jr., CSO Desk Officer of the Provincial Government.

In the said meeting, these 21 accredited CSOs underwent a strict process to be selected as representatives at the Provincial Development Council (PDC), Provincial Health Board (PHB), Provincial School Board (PScB), Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC).

These representatives will serve as voices of their sector and would connect the masses and government in creating transparency, inclusivity, and active participation in the local government.

The said endeavor is supported by Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., adding that the Provincial Government continues to support the programs that boost the connection between the government and the civil society that would develop the province of Zambales.

CSOs are non-profit, voluntary groups of citizens that operate independently of the government and private business sectors to advance shared interests and improve society.

They perform a wide range of functions, such as advocating for citizens, monitoring policies, providing services, and engaging the public on issues of common concern.

Examples of CSOs include non-governmental organizations (NGOs), labor unions, charities, professional associations, and community-based groups. .
