Two individuals were arrested in an intelligence-driven police operation at the non-operational Amore Recreation and Leisure Park in Barangay Aguado, Trece Martires City.
According to police, the operation commenced at 6 a.m. on 31 October 2025 and was carried out under Search Warrant SW-EJO-41-2025-C, issued by Executive Judge Angelina A. Mailom-Orendain of Regional Trial Court Branch 92, Calamba City.
The raid was conducted by a joint team from the Regional Investigation Division (RID) 4A Special Team and RID Cavite, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office IV-A and other local agencies.
The arrested were identified as Tony Sia Lao, a resident of Nursery, Masbate City, and Erwin Torres Sy, a resident of Macapagal, Pasay City. They face charges for violating the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 (Republic Act 10364).
The anti-trafficking victims, ranging from minors to adults, were mostly production workers and drivers from Masbate and Leyte, including a 17-year-old identified as Alyas Amadz Curimao.
They were rescued and placed under protective custody at the Trece Martires City Police Station for documentation and support services.
The operation adhered to legal safeguards under Republic Act 7438 and the Anti-Torture Law, ensuring that the rights of the arrested individuals were fully observed. Arrest and rescue procedures were documented using body-worn cameras and other recording devices. Local officials also witnessed the operation.
