In the midst of skyscrapers in Dubai, an architectural masterpiece will rise again and this time, it will be above the waters of Dubai Creek.

An addition to its breathtaking structures is the Dubai Museum of Art (DUMA), a 5-storied building as announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on his X account.

“Cities are completed with culture and art... And it thrives with the economy…” the post read.

“They flourish through the economy, achieve harmony and entrench their sustainability when their private sector is responsible, participatory, and aligned with its public sector. This is what we see in Dubai,” he added.

Inspired by the pearls and the sea, the five-storey building is designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando for Al-Futtaim Group.

Under the supervision of Ando, the inside of the museum will feature exhibition galleries, a VIP lounge, fine-dining restaurant, art library, terrace and world-class training programs all while a central cylindrical opening will serve as the entry for central skylight.

However, no timeline for its completion or opening has been announced yet, but it is expected that the structure will bolster the tourism sector of Dubai.
