Veteran actor and television host Dingdong Dantes recently demonstrated humility and accountability after admitting an error on the set of his hit game show Family Feud.
During a recent episode, Dantes extended a greeting to the Tausug community, but later realized the phrase used was culturally or linguistically inaccurate. The Kapuso star quickly issued a public apology, taking full responsibility for the mistake.
In a video message posted on Facebook, Dantes said, “Last Monday po sa Family Feud, may binati po kaming mga kababayan natin sa programa. Unfortunately, mali po pala ang ginamit naming pangungusap nang i-greet namin ang mga kababayan nating Tausug.”
He went on to sincerely ask for forgiveness and assured viewers that he and his production team are taking steps to avoid similar errors in the future. “Humihingi po ako ng paumanhin. Sa susunod, sisiguraduhin po namin na mas pagbubutiin pa namin ang aming pagsasaliksik,” Dantes said, reaffirming their commitment to cultural sensitivity and accuracy when addressing diverse Filipino audiences.
