More Batangas shore cleanups

From one big coastal cleanup each year, Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) is organizing smaller but more frequent cleanups in San Pascual, Batangas, where Olive-Ridley sea turtles lay eggs from August to October.

CPI head operator Mae Belle Albay said that by shifting to more regular cleanups near the Chevron Batangas terminal, “we can make a bigger, more lasting impact on our environment.” 

Meanwhile, 250 volunteers from CPI and other government agencies collected 232 sacks of trash as part of the observance of the International Coastal Cleanup in San Pascual, helping ensure hatchlings have a safe path back to the sea.
